At a time when too many in the information space merely write and offer opinion or click bait, we should all celebrate the journalists we know and work with. They are dedicated and passionate. Without them, our understanding of the world would be much less! Thanks for the reminder Jill Geisler

Congratulations to the wonderful leaders from across media for completing our June Loyola Master Class for Media Managers. We tackled real-world issues in real time - and had real joy in supporting each other. I am so impressed with the candor, care and shared learning that grew in this class. There's one more online Master Class this year, October 7-11 and I'd love to welcome you. https://lnkd.in/giRfWhXV #leadership #management #media #journalism

"When anchors get an opportunity for professional development, it's usually in the form of “talent coaching” – to polish their on-camera delivery. That’s important. But my “co-anchor” Scott Libin and I have long believed anchors deserve more. That’s why, more than 25 years ago, as faculty members of the Poynter Institute, we developed Anchor Leadership seminars. Anchors from across the country and the world spent time focused on coaching, collaboration, conflict resolution, ethics, and diversity – all steeped in journalistic values.Anchors, we’ve missed you.The RTNDA annual conference, RTDNA24, is going to be in Milwaukee. It’s not only my home turf (and in a neighboring state of Scott’s), but it’s also a city where anchors from every station have taken part in past Anchor Leadership programs. How cool is that?So we pitched RTDNA to do this program and got a quick green light. Then we reached out to our Milwaukee anchor alums to help us as guest faculty — and they immediately volunteered. That should tell you a good deal about how much a program like this means to those who’ve attended. We hope you'll join them — and us — on June 12 in Milwaukee for the Anchor Leadership Summit." When RTDNA announced it's holding its annual convention in my home town of Milwaukee, I knew a few things:1. It would be a great opportunity for Scott Libin and I to revive the RTDNA Anchor Leadership Summit in tandem with the convention. RTDNA agreed.2. Many of Milwaukee's top anchors are alumni of the program, and they would be great guest faculty. Guess what? They all volunteered.3. Other top TV news managers have helped teach the program. They volunteered, too!4. Everyone would love to hear from another Milwaukee market alum, Boyd Huppert about the secrets of coaching great storytelling. He was an immediate "yes!"So now, it's all coming together. A whole day of nothing but leadership for TV News Anchors. June 12. Here's the link for registration. (And it gets participants a discount for the convention, too!) https://lnkd.in/dkX7rntt
